Empress Elisabeth "Sisi", once stood on these same heights above Trauttmansdorff, trying to escape the weight of an empire she never wanted to rule.

She came here in 1870 seeking rest, after the tragic death of her daughter. Locals say that during her stay, Sisi would walk alone through the gardens at dawn, refusing guards or company, whispering that the mountains were “the only place where her heart could breathe.”

One morning, after a night of storms, she wrote in her diary that the valley “looked washed clean by heaven”-a rare moment of peace recorded in her troubled life.

The view hasn’t changed much since then. The same ridges, the same calm breathing through the air, the same quiet that once soothed a restless empress.
